Abilene Bridal Basics Photography Workshop

This workshop was created for photographers considering wedding photography.  This class is also for those who attend for fun, to sharpen their skills, and get portfolio pieces.

This workshop is 1/3 lecture and 2/3 workshop aka shooting. We’ll cover the basics about photography - from what is expected by clients to what type of equipment you need and how to use it.

We will be covering the following content:

  • Basics of Light
  • Traditional& Contemporary Bridal Poses
  • Using Natural Light Effectively
  • Basic Technical Techniques (ISO, DOF, flash, etc)
  • Basics of Fill Light
  • Manual vs Auto
  • Basics of Composition
  • Basics of Negative Space
  • Basics of Shadows and Light
  • Model(s) in Bridal Gown Provided

The Abilene Bridal Basics Workshop was created to allow local photographers to attend Belle’s workshops and focus on the fundamental elements of bridal photography. It is a BASIC level class. The only recommendation is that you have a DSLR camera.

During the workshop you will have the opportunity to shoot a model in a wedding gown.  During the day there will be on-going speaking and opportunity for Q&A.

***YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER TO BENEFIT FROM THIS CLASS!***

This workshop will talk about lighting, posing, basics of photography and issues that apply to photography in general - hobbyists are welcome at this workshop.

This workshop is a BEGINNER level class which means newBs are welcome.

New York - Photographing Brides Workshop

This workshop is 1/3 lecture and 2/3 workshop aka shooting. We’ll cover the basics about bridal photography. This class has a limited class size, so if you need or want a small workshop with lots of help - this is it.

We will be covering the following content:

* Basics of Feminine Lighting
* Using Off-Camera Lighting
* Formal & Contemporary Bridal Portrait Poses
* Using Natural Light Effectively
* Basic Technical Techniques - (ISO, DOF, flash, etc)
* Tricks to Dramatic Bridals
* Posing Tips for Different Figures
* Basics of Cool Compositions
* Tricks to Shooting Natural Poses
* Basics of Shadows and Light
* Get Great Portfolio Shots
* Designer Wedding Gown &
* Model Provided

This workshop will be held at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in New York (approx. 45 miles from Manhattan on Long Island).  This location has many different features including the mansion, lawns, gardens, and lake.

The location will provide for a diversity of looks.  And we are on - rain or shine, sleet or snow.  Weather makes for more interesting shots anyway.  ;o)

This workshop is 1/3 lecture and 2/3 workshop aka shooting. We’ll cover the basics about photography - from what is expected by clients to what type of equipment you need and how to use it.

  • Using Natural Light Effectively
  • Basic Technical Techniques (ISO, DOF, flash, etc)
